Łukasz Brzyski

Founder of Brzyski & Partners Management Consulting

“I have been through due diligence and a price negotiation myself. That is why I run sale processes differently from most transaction advisers. I know the week when people stop sleeping, and I know that is exactly when the decisions people later regret get made.”

Nordic market expansion

Łukasz Brzyski advises owners of mid-sized companies on selling their business, preparing it for a transaction and entering the Nordic markets. Before he started advising others, he sold two companies he had helped build. That perspective is not something you pick up on a course.

He started out as a telecommunications engineer from the Kraków University of Technology and spent most of his career on the side of the table that builds companies rather than the side that advises on them. He has worked in Poland, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom. Two companies he co-founded were sold to investors. For the past eight years he has been doing the same work for other owners, from the other chair.

He has worked as a business consultant since 2018. For the past few years, within a boutique advisory firm, he has been running sale and acquisition processes, preparing companies for a transaction and taking Polish businesses into the Scandinavian markets.

He puts real weight on technology. Automation and artificial intelligence, implemented properly, lift a company’s profitability, and profitability is what a buyer looks at when pricing the business. Money spent on technology before a sale tends to come back in the transaction price.

Clients

Who he works with

Owners of companies with a transaction value between PLN 10 and 50 million. It is the segment large investment banks do not want and smaller advisers rarely know from the inside. Usually manufacturers, distributors and business services firms with fifteen or thirty years of history, run by the founder, who is either thinking about succession or has received an offer and cannot tell whether it is a good one.

Brzyski & Partners does not work on the model where a partner signs the mandate and a junior runs the process. Łukasz Brzyski runs projects himself and sits in on every conversation with a buyer. That limits how many processes run in parallel, which is a deliberate choice rather than a constraint.

Frequently asked

About working with Łukasz Brzyski.

Does he run transactions personally?

Yes. He is present at every conversation with a prospective buyer and negotiates himself. There is no team of juniors the process gets handed to once the mandate is signed.

What size of companies does he work with?

Transaction values between PLN 10 and 50 million. Below that, the cost of running a proper process stops making sense for the owner. Above it, the other side of the table is usually an investment bank.

What languages does he negotiate in?

Polish, English and Swedish. Swedish matters in Nordic deals: a conversation in the buyer’s own language changes the tone of a negotiation, even when everyone involved speaks English.

Does he specialise in particular sectors?

Mostly manufacturing, distribution and business services. The sector decides the multiple and what a buyer is looking for, but the mechanics of a process are the same whatever the company makes.

☎

How do you arrange a conversation?

The first meeting takes 30 to 45 minutes, by phone or online, and costs nothing. We talk about the company and about whether, and when, selling makes sense.
